'I think a lot of coaches will tell you that their passion for helping others stems from knowing what it feels like to truly struggle themselves. This is definitely true for me. If it wasn't for my experiences in life so far I'd have no idea how to relate to my clients, and I don't think I'd be as compassionate or as strong-minded as I am now.
I know how it feels to be trapped by your own mind. To feel stuck and unable to move forwards no matter how hard you try. The truth is I was stuck for 31 years. I had no idea that I had been living in a state of acute anxiety my entire life. It wasn't until I had my daughter and unexpectedly became a single mother that I recognised how much I needed to change. I knew I needed to be better for her. And so I began a six year journey to transform myself from the inside out.
I was quite impatient back then, so those first four years felt like I was walking through treacle. I read books, watched Youtube videos, tried to meditate, started a blog and went to a counsellor once a week. It was a slow and frustrating process. I was moving forward at what felt like a snails pace and I wondered how much longer it was going to take before I felt truly alive and happy again.
It wasn't until I decide to sign up for a 6 week coaching program that things really started to happen.
I had been working in a bank when I signed up for the course on a whim. By the end of the 6 weeks I'd handed in my notice and started to build an Epic business of my own. Since then I have studied to become a certified hypnotherapist, RTT® Practitioner and Rapid Transformational Coach®. I have delivered workshops and talks for hundreds of people, transformed my clients lives with 1-2-1 coaching, successfully launched my first group coaching program, become the healthiest I've ever been, and I get to walk my daughter to school every day. To me, this feels like winning :-)
I would never in a million years have considered any of this had it not been for my coach. I was the girl who stayed in jobs I hated for years because I didn't think I could do anything else. I just accepted that I had to work 9 to 5, so I couldn't be there for my daughter the way I wanted to be. I had always had low expectations and low self-worth. But working with my coach changed the way I saw the world, and the way I saw myself.
Coaching allowed me to uncover my hearts desires, and RTT® removed my crippling self-doubt, which enabled me to actually believe in myself. I've achieved things I never would have even attempted before, and with my coach helping me to set goals and holding me accountable, my entire life transformed. And it continues to do so as I keep moving forwards on this journey of growth, and of living a life full of purpose and joy.
I know how powerful it is to have a 'why' behind everything you do. I have two. Firstly, I chose this pathway so I could provide other people with the same feeling of freedom and self-belief that I have now. Being part of my clients personal journey is the most wonderful feeling in the world to me.
But mostly, I do this for my daughter, because she is the driving force behind everything I do. I want to be the best version of myself for her, because that's what she deserves. I strive every day to be a positive role model, to show her how to follow her passion and her gifts, and do some good in the world. Paige, you have helped me more than you'll ever know. I hope I make you as proud as you make me.'
